Irish traditional festival in Kraainem – March 16th
New setting, new stage, new content
De Lijsterbes Cultural Centre,
Lijsterbessenbomenlaan 6, 1950 Kraainem, Belgium
What a year it has been for the Irish Theatre Group. After last year’s successful Irish language production, An Béal Bocht, we’re still ready and roaring to explore beyond some language barriers.
We were approached some months ago to take part in a Kraainem’s St. Patrick’s Day festival. Never being one to shy away from treading the boards, we snapped up the opportunity to join forces with De Lijsterbes.
We’ve been ringing around to get in touch with friends old and new to the ITG scene to relive some of our greatest performances to date. We were overwhelmed with the interest that has been shown so far!
If you have been a fan of our famous Bloomsnight and enjoy listening to powerful poetry readings, laughing along with some great acting performances, listening to live traditional Irish music or, more simply, just want to have a piece of salmon and brown bread to go with your pint of Guinness during the break, then pencil in Sunday, March 16th in the diaries, folks.
We’re happy to announce that we’ll be bringing you little tasters from Dancing at Lughnasa and The Matchmaker. The night has a great balance between theatre performances as well as live Irish traditional music. If ever you wanted to ring in St. Patrick’s Day in an intimate atmosphere, this is the place to be!
